Meet Rick Anderson, an Australian man who calls a female Port Jackson shark his companion, saying she comes to snuggle with him at whatever point she sees him. “I began playing with her around seven years back when she was only a pup around 6 inches long,” Anderson told The Dodo. “I moved toward her deliberately so as not to spook her, then started to delicately pat her. When she got used to me, I would support her in my grasp and talk soothingly to her through my controller.”

The man, who has been scuba jumping for a long time and runs a plunge school, included: “Over the accompanying seasons, she’d remember me and would swim up to me for a pat and nestle. She soon got used to me — to the point where she will swim up to me when I’m going past, and tap me on the legs until I hold my arms out for her to lay on for a nestle.”

“Most jumpers seeing this surprisingly can’t trust it,” he included. “I don’t sustain her or any of alternate sharks I play with — I essentially treat them like I would a puppy.”
